About Us
Salt Lake International Driving School is a low cost, owner-operated Utah Driver License Division approved school. Because of our low overhead cost, our school is able to offer customized driver education program at a cost that you can afford, with flexible payment options thus passing all the savings to you.
Our school exists to serve the under-served, whether you are new to the State and need help navigating the challenging Utah roadways, a migrant with no-voice driver experience or a high school senior who just needs a private driver education program, we have a plan to suit your needs. Salt Lake International Driving School is open six days a week to serve your busy lifestyle.
Salt Lake International Driving School provides driver education instruction in multiple languages. With our customer success approach, we will customize your training experience to suit your individual driving ability. There is no one size that fits all in drivers ed, therefore our lesson plans are customer centered, meaning we will only go as fast as you are able to retain safe driving habits to help you conquer the roadway challenges you will face as a new driver in Utah.
With our customer centered, customer focused mindset, we will allow you to schedule your training sessions on your own terms as long as the program is completed within 12-months of purchase.

The instructor is very kind , patient and makes sure you feel very comfortable. It was an amazing experience. Daud is a great and wonderful person. Went there for drivers education without prior knowledge of driving cars. Instructor was extremely patient and gave clear instructions during classes, which helped in clearing the test in first go. Would definitely recommend !

I am a non US citizen with a foreign driving license, and I took my road test with Salt Lake International Driving. The whole experience has been amazing!!! Daud is a great professional, with a lot of experience but at the same time very kind and patient. He explained all the road test procedures and answered all my doubts before the test, and helped me to feel calmer during the test. I learned about the importance of always checking blind spots while driving, and the helpfulness of defensive driving. Overall an excelent experience! I really recommend this driving school to all! Also, to drivers with an international driving license like me.

The instructor was very patient, kind, and professional. Before hand he explained everything he was testing me on , very
thorough. I told him areas I wasn’t good in and he explained them to me. While driving he made me relax and loosen up. Would totally recommend to anyone who needs to get their test done! I passed!

I had a great learning experience with Daud. He helped me to think more and use more judgments to drive better. Daud also provided me a practice test before my road test, which helped me to know my weaknesses and better prepare for the exam.

I did my road test here. The tester is a really kind person and makes sure I wasn’t being too nervous while driving. He also explained what I need to pay more attention to after the test. Would recommend this place for anyone who needs to take their road test 🙂

Born in a small village in Somalia and raised in a deserted Kenya refugee camp for over a decade, Daud has faced many uncertainties in life. Lessons learned from those uncertainties in the refugee camp and those learned from integrating and adopting to a new life in the United States all shaped the culture and practices in place at Salt Lake International Driving School. Utah’s only refugee focused; customer serviced oriented Drivers Ed program.
Academically, Daud graduated from a local Utah high school, went on to study criminal justice degree at Eagle Gate College, graduating with Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice in 2012. Daud went onto graduate studies at Southern New Hampshire University graduating with a master’s degree in legal studies in 2014, then a second graduate degree studies at Southern Utah University graduating in 2020 with a master’s Degree in Public Administration.
Professionally Daud has been employed by both city, county and state law enforcement agencies from Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in Phoenix Arizona, The State of Arizona. Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office to State of Utah most recently as a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper. With his experience in law enforcement and graduates studies in Public Administration and legal studies; Daud is able to offer training sessions focused on safe defensive driving at all times.
