Welcome to Salt Lake International Driving School (SLIDS). Our instructors are State Certified and trained through the National Safety Council. We look forward to collaborating with you to provide an enjoyable and safe learning environment that will prepare you for the challenges of Utah roadways.

Whether you are new to driving, new to the area, preparing for the State Road Test, or just need additional driving practice, SLIDS equips you with safe and defensive driving skills.

Please review the program rules and regulations before signing the registration form. This is a legally binding contract.

General Rules

SLIDS is an LLC registered with the State of Utah, licensed by the City of West Valley, and certified by the Utah Department of Public Safety Driver License Division as a Commercial Driver Training School.
Our school is owner-operated with low overhead costs, passing the savings to you while providing exceptional driver education.
SLIDS provides student-specific training, exceeding Utah state minimum licensing requirements.
Courses offered: Complete Driver Ed, Behind-The-Wheel Only, Private Driving Session, and State Skills Assessment (Road Test).
Parents/legal guardians of students under 18 may observe behind-the-wheel sessions whenever an open seat is available.

Scheduling & Cancellations

All scheduled lessons continue after a 24-hour cancellation window.
SLIDS may modify appointments with 8 hours advance notice for operational reasons.
Students must give a minimum 24-hour notice to reschedule; otherwise:
- $150 change fee per lesson
- $150 cancellation fee if not rescheduled within 2 weeks
Drives may be canceled for reasonable causes (natural disasters, severe weather).

Out-of-State Students

Students who have completed part of another state’s driver education may finish customized behind-the-wheel training to meet Utah requirements.
Options: Complete full program (6 hours) or remaining hours at the current hourly rate.
Certificates are provided for completed hours.

Pickup/Drop-Off Services

Available with prior arrangements within Salt Lake County.
Sessions begin at school and end at school; pick-up/drop-off times are planned to ensure safe return.

Learner’s Permit

A valid learner permit is required before scheduling drives.
The permit must remain valid throughout enrollment.
Students presenting an expired permit or improper license must reschedule at their own expense.

Tuition

Full payment is required unless prior arrangements are made.
Accepted: All major US cards; cash/cashier’s check. No personal checks.
Tuition is not transferable.
Defaulting on payment plans may incur collection fees.

Refunds

Full refund available within 48 hours of registration.
After 48 hours, a $50 service charge applies, plus fees for completed lessons.
No refunds after 6 months of enrollment.

No-Show Fees

$50 per missed appointment road test appointment.
$150 per missed behind the wheel training session.
Reschedule fee must be paid before scheduling new appointments.
Missing 3 of any appointments without notice results in forfeited tuition and course failure.
Cancellation/rescheduling must be 24 hours in advance via phone or email (no text messages accepted).

Alcohol & Drug Use

Zero tolerance for alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance.
Students suspected of influence must reschedule at $70/hour missed, or $150/session for violations.

Smoking & Personal Devices

No smoking, vaping, or device usage within 50 feet of school vehicles/classrooms.
Violators will receive warnings; willful non-compliance may result in dismissal with no refund.

Course Time Limit

Courses must be completed within 12 calendar months from registration.
Incomplete courses require full repayment to restart.

Skills Assessment / Road Test

DPS-approved practical skills test available for $50/test.
Students may use school or personal vehicles (must be properly licensed, insured, and mechanically sound).
Maximum: 1 skills test per 24 hours.
Up to 6 retakes allowed at additional cost.
Customized behind-the-wheel training offered for unsuccessful students.

Guarantees

SLIDS does not guarantee passing any exams.
We provide the best training possible for safe driving skills.

Certification

Upon completion, students receive a certificate of completion for behind-the-wheel training.
Can combine with other approved classroom training to meet Utah Driver License Division requirements.

End of Terms
